Ultimo spritz - Last spritz

In dialetto svizzero tedesco le iniezioni si chiamano Spritz.

Ogni volta che venivo ricoverata in ospedale, tutti i giorni alla stessa ora l'infermiere arrivava con due punture e mi diceva: "Frau Stefania, è l'ora dello Spritz!"
Una siringa era Eparina, dicono che previene la trombosi. La trombosi può essere causata dal poco movimento, in ospedale infatti si sta sempre a letto. Personalmente penso che l'Eparina a me facesse venire solo dei grandi lividi sulle gambe che duravano mesi.
L'altra siringa in Svizzera si chiama Neupogen (Filgrastim). L'ho sempre fatta da gennaio durante tutto il tempo della terapia. Questo medicinale costa sui 1000 CHF a siringa...no comment! Serve ad aumentare le difese immunitarie aumentando il livello dei leucociti e dei neutrofili (globuli bianchi). In ospedale toccava all'infermiere farmi l'iniezione, a casa me la faceva mia mamma...a volte me la sono fatta da sola, nonostante avessi sempre avuto paura del sangue e degli aghi.
In tutto questo periodo ho anche sempre evitato di baciare o abbracciare persone e amici, proprio perché ho le difese immunitarie basse. Unica eccezione a cui spesso non resistevo era il mio nipotino di un anno...una forza della natura, un Duracell. Nonostante la stanchezza causata dalla chemioterapia lui riesce a trasmettermi tantissima energia!
Insomma venerdì ho fatto l'ultimo Spritz e questa volta non ci saranno più chemio a seguire, sono contentissima di poter riabbracciare e baciare tutti quanti!

Ragazzi d'ora in poi lo Spritz me lo fa solo il barista...sì ma l'Aperol 😜

Posto qua sotto qualche foto dell'ultimo mese, dalla chemio n. 11 sono sempre stata in Italia a parte qualche giorno che sono tornata a Lucerna per fare l'ultima chemio. Sono ancora qui e tornerò in Svizzera solo per fare la PET ad agosto. La migliore terapia è stare con la famiglia e ancora adesso non mi capacito come la mia prima oncologa non avesse voluto convincere l'assicurazione sanitaria a farmi curare in Italia. Diceva che non avrei avuto bisogno della famiglia per sconfiggere il linfoma...che in Svizzera sono abbastanza bravi...come se solo i medicinali bastassero a guarire.

In Swiss German injections are called Spritz.

When I was hospitalized, every day at the same time the nurse was coming with two syringes saying: "Frau Stefania, it's Spritz time!".

One syringe was Eparine, it prevents thrombosis. You get thrombosis when you don't move, in hospital you lie always in bed indeed. I honestly think that I was getting only long-lasting black and blue marks on my legs with Eparine.

The other syringe is Switzerland is called Neupogen (Filgrastim). I have always done it since January during all the therapy. This drug costs around 1000 CHF each syringe...no comment. It makes you increase your immune defenses increasing the level of leucocytes (white cells).

At the hospital the nurse was doing the injection, at home my mum was doing it to me...sometimes I had to do it by my own...despite I've always been afraid of needles and blood.

During all this time I avoided to hug and kiss people bacause of my low defenses. Only exception sometimes was my 1-year nephew...he is a force of nature, a Duracell battery. Although I was tired becasue of the therapy, he is able to give me so much energy!

So last Friday I had my last Spritz. This time there will be no more chemos to follow. I'm happy to hug and kiss everybody!

Guys, from now on only the barman is going to do me a Spritz...yes but Aperol!

I posted some pictures of the last month. Since chemo n.11 I have always been in Italy. Except few days when I came back to Lucerne for the last chemo. I'm still here and I'll come back to Switzerland only for the PET scan. Family is the best therapy and until now I still can't understand why my first oncologist didn't want to convince the health insurance to let me cure in Italy. She was saying that in Switzerand they are very good with the therapy and there was no need for family...like if only drugs are enough to get rid of cancer.
