Finalmente sto sfrattando questo intruso dal mio corpo!
Questa mattina ho avuto il risultato della PET che ho fatto venerdì: è negativa 💪😂😂.

Io e mamma ci siamo messe a piangere in ospedale, voi direte "che novità", ma questa volta erano lacrime di gioa.

Con le prime chemio sono stata male, questo vuol dire che la terapia stava funzionando. Infatti nella PET le cellule tumorali sono quasi tutte scomparse, non si vede nessuna macchia, solo un paio nel collo ma sono residui.

Quindi continuerò con la stessa terapia ABVD. Se la PET non fosse risultata negativa mi avrebbero fatto continuare con la BEACOPP.

La BEACOPP si fa ogni 3 settimane invece che ogni 2 come ABVD, perchè ci vuole più tempo per smaltire i medicinali. In Svizzera ogni volta che fai la BEACOPP sei ricoverato in ospedale per 4 giorni.

Nel mio caso non solo continuerò con l'ABVD ma eliminiamo anche la B - bleomicina. L'oncologa ha detto che posso farne a meno. La bleomicina è un medicinale molto tossico che può portare a un fibroma polmonare o ad altri problemi respiratori in futuro. Anche al ciclista texano Lance Armstrong gli avevano eliminato la bleomicina dalle chemio, altrimenti non avrebbe più potuto correre..invece dopo il cancro al testicolo ha vinto il Tour de France!

In cuor mio sapevo che la PET sarebbe risultata negativa, però devo dire che questo fine settimana ero nervosa in attesa di sapere la risposta. Ora più che contenta mi sento RILASSATA, lo sono anche mamma, papà, zia Grazia, Gianni, Michele 😅.

Adesso mi mancano ancora 8 chemio prima di finire, almeno altri 4 mesi. Ho chiesto all'oncologa se magari ne bastano meno, ma mi ha risposto "non si accettano sconti, il tumore deve scomparire al 100% e soprattutto dobbiamo essere sicuri che non ritorni". Devo stare ancora sempre attenta al sistema immunitario che è debole e farmi 5 siringhe per 5 giorni tra una chemio e l'altra per far rialzare i globuli bianchi.

Il risultato di oggi è dovuto anche grazie a tutta l'energia positiva che mi mandate ogni giorno e alle vostre preghiere.
Grazie di cuore per tutti gli auguri che mi fate e per i biglietti che ricevo. Oggi ho ricevuto una biglietto da un'ex collega di EF/HULT, dove ho lavorato per quasi 5 anni. Tra le altre cose mi ha scritto: "c'era un periodo che riuscivo a sentire la tua risata dal corridoio, riuscivi a farmi sorridere anche quando ero triste".
Sono tante le persone di EF/HULT che mi stanno vicine. Nonostante il lavoro fosse stressante, i colleghi e gli amici che mi sono fatta sono una della cose più belle che mi sia capitata negli ultimi anni.
Non augurerei a nessuno di avere un tumore ne' di fare le chemio, però dentro la cosa brutta c'è una cosa bella. Ti rendi conto che le persone ti vogliono bene più di quello che credi. Ti rendi anche conto che sei più forte di quello che pensi.

Finally I'm chasing this infiltrator away from my body.

This morning I had the PET result from Friday: it's negative 💪😂😂.

My mum and me started to cry in the hospital, you will say: "What a news!". But this time they were TEARS OF JOY.

The first chemos were tough to tolerate, it meant that the therapy was working well! Indeed almost all the tumor cells disappeared in the PET scan. There are no spots, just a couple around the neck but they are remains.

So I'll continue with the ABVD therapy. If PET result was positive I would have continued with BEACOPP instead.

BEACOPP therapy is normally every 3 weeks, not every second week like ABVD. This is because it takes more time to assimilate the drugs. In Switzerland every time that you do BEACOPP you are hospitalized during 4 days.

In my case not I will not only continue with ABVD but we are going to eliminate also B - bleomicyn. My oncologist told me that we can do without it. Bleomicyn is a very toxic drug, it can cause a polmonary fibroma or other breathing problems in future. Also for the Texan cyclist Lance Armstrong doctors decided to eliminate bleomicyn from his chemos otherwise he wouldn't have been able to compete anymore. He won the Tour de France after testicular cancer instead!

I knew in my heart that the PET result was going to be negative, but I have to admit that I was nervous this weekend waiting for the result. At the moment more than happy I feel RELAXED. Mum, dad, aunt Grazia, Gianni, Michele are relieved too 😅.

Now I still need to do 8 more chemos, at least 4 months. I asked to my oncologist if we really need 8 chemos but she replied: "no discounts, tumor needs to disappear 100% and most of all we don't want it back!". I still need to pay attention to my weak immune system, every time I still need to get 5 injections during 5 days in-between chemos to increase my white cells.

Today's good news is also due to your positive energy that I receive every day and to your prayers.
THANKS for your good wishes and all the cards that I receive. Today I received a card from an ex-colleague from EF/HULT, where I worked during almost 5 years. Among other she wrote: "There was a time I heard your laughter in the corridor, it made me smile even if I was feeling sad".
I have many people from EF/HULT close to me. Even if job was demanding, the friends that I made are one of the most beautiful things it happened to me in the last few years.
I would never wish to anyone to get cancer or doing chemos, but within the sad experience there is a beautiful one. You realize that you are loved more than you know. You are also stronger than you imagine.
